Wenn you know english made pressure lanterns like Tilley and
Bi-Aladdin, you will know that they carbonize easy and can't be cleaned or repaired. Willi Springmann has solved the "problem" by making or better re-building
his own vaporizer. This "Springmann" vaporizer can be cleaned easy, just
dismantle it, and uses a 250 cp Petromax orifice. The pictures show how to make a vaporizer on a lathe. Re-building on your own risk ! |
The raw material. | Both ends are made plane. | Both ends get a center hole. |
Core drilling M7x1. | Cutting the thread M7x1. | "Clamping" with an old orifice. |
Resizing the rod to 11mm. | Centering the gauge. | By using the orifice, you can cut all the material. |
Drilling the main bore. | Don't distroy the thread on the other side. | Cutting the M10x0,75 thread. |
Cleaning the thread. | Almost ready. | Drilling hex. 17mm with 16mm. |
Cutting off the hex. | Hard soldering. | Cleaning. |
Making the needle spring.... | and it looks like this ..... | The cleaning needle is ready. |
